COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Fort Lewis College volleyball player Chelsea Flaming was named to the All-Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference third team, RMAC Assistant Commissioner Sarah Meier announced today.

“I am thrilled for Chelsea to receive this award,” said seventh-year head coach Shelly Aaland. “It is a great culmination of her career at Fort Lewis College.”

Flaming, a 6-foot senior outside hitter from Durango, has received postseason All-RMAC recognition three times in her career. She was a first team pick in 2009 and a second team selection in 2008.

Earlier this fall, she was named to the RMAC All-Academic second team (she maintains a 3.36 GPA in the Art-Graphic Art option). She was also a Preseason All-RMAC selection.

Additionally, Flaming was named to the Daktronics All-Central Region second team in 2009.

Head volleyball coaches from each of the 14 institutions voted for the 2010 All-RMAC volleyball teams. They could not vote for players from their own school.

Fort Lewis College (15-11 overall, 9-9 RMAC) is seeded eighth and will face 2010 RMAC champion Nebraska-Kearney (26-4, 17-1) in the RMAC championship quarterfinals at 6 p.m. (MST) Thursday at the Health & Sport Center in Kearney.
