Waugh Scores First Collegiate Goal vs Skidmore

March 17, 2010. Colorado Springs, CO. - The Fort Lewis College women's lacrosse team lost its sixth consecutive game Tuesday, falling 19-3 to NCAA Division III Skidmore College in a game played at Colorado College in Colorado Springs.
Skidmore (2-0) was led by Lindsay Stavola with four goals and two assists. Eleven different players scored in the Skidmore victory.
Skidmore broke to a 7-0 lead before Fort Lewis scored on an unassisted Alyssa Vigil rocket shot in the 20th minute for her team leading 12th goal. The Thoroughbreds went into halftime with a 12-1 advantage. The Hawks' came out much more determined inthe second half and held Skidmore to only seven goals and scring two more of their own.
Libby Weiner blew a shot past the goalie in the 19th minute for her 4th goal of the season when Elise DeHerrera found her wide open on the left side of the keeper.
The last Fort Lewis goal came with 4 minutes left in the match when Genna Waugh was allowed a free shot and bounced the ball passed the goalie into the lower right net for her first collegiate goal.
Goalie Nic Larossaved six shots on the day.
The FLC women's lacrosse team (0-6) will play Colorado College in Colorado Springs at 6 p.m. Sunday.
The Skyhawks are scheduled to open their home season April 2 in Durango against Regis.
This is the second year for women's lacrosse at Fort Lewis.
