COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. — Fort Lewis College men's basketball player
DeAndre Lansdowne was named the
Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference/Baden Offensive Player of the Week, RMAC Assistant Commissioner
Sarah Meier announced today.
Lansdowne, a 6-foot-2 senior guard from Sandia High School in Albuquerque, N.M., scored 21 points and had six rebounds, three assists and one steal in FLC's 88-82 win over Seattle Pacific on Nov. 26, with 12 of his points coming in the final five-and-a-half minutes. He added 15 points, six rebounds, two assists and one blocked shot in FLC's 77-66 win over Washburn on Nov. 27.
“He was significantly in a better place health-wise than last weekend,” FLC associate head coach
Bob Pietrack told the
Durango Herald following the Washburn victory. “And that's great, especially with conference play rolling around. It was nice to see DeAndre play well.”
Lansdowne, who was chosen as Preseason RMAC Offensive and Defensive Player of the Year last month, is averaging 13.5 points, 5.8 rebounds and 2.8 assists per game.
Fort Lewis, the preseason favorites to win the RMAC title, opens league play next weekend at UC-Colorado Springs (2-2 overall) on Friday and at CSU-Pueblo (1-1) on Saturday. Both games start at 8 p.m. and can be heard locally on KIUP (930 AM) and online at
