ATLANTA — Fort Lewis College women's basketball player Dana Schreibvogel was named Women's Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA) State Farm® All-America honorable mention, WBCA spokesman Jack Watford announced today.

Schreibvogel, a 6-foot junior forward from Weld Central High School in Keenesburg, Colo., became the second Skyhawk to receive the honor. Her former teammate, Allison Rosel, received the same honor in 2009-10.

“The individual awards continue to pile up for Dana,” said sixth-year FLC women's basketball coach Mark Kellogg, who was also honored today by the WBCA as the Division II Central Region Coach of the Year. “Dana finished this season with one of the best individual seasons in FLC women's basketball history. The All-America honor is the culmination of her accomplishments coupled with the success of our team.”

A key reserve during her first two years as a Skyhawk, Schreibvogel blossomed as a full-time starter in 2010-11. She was named the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference Player of the Year and Most Valuable Player of the RMAC Shootout this year. In addition to those honors, she was a first team Daktronics® All-Central Region selection, a first team All-RMAC pick, a second team RMAC All-Academic choice, the RMAC Student-Athlete of the Month for January, and a five-time RMAC Player of the Week (three offensive, two defensive) in 2010-11. She earned RMAC All-Academic Honor Roll and D2 Athletic Directors Association/WeatherPORT Academic Achievement awards a year ago.

Schreibvogel leads the RMAC in scoring (18.5 points per game) and field goal shooting (.579). She also ranks among league leaders in defensive rebounds (ninth, 5.2 per game), rebounding (12th, 6.5 per game), free throw shooting (12th, .777) and steals (13th, 1.7 per game).

She ranks among FLC career leaders in free throws (eighth, 228), scoring (16th, 894 points), field goals (18th, 328) and blocked shots (19th, 27).

Fort Lewis (28-3 overall) finished their 2010-11 campaign with the best winning percentage in school history (.903) — topping the 2009-10 squad that went 35-4 (.897) and advanced to the NCAA Division II championship game. The Skyhawks won their first-ever RMAC Shootout championship this year and qualified for the NCAA playoffs for the fourth straight season. FLC also hosted the NCAA Division II Central Regionals for the second year in a row.
