COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. — Fort Lewis College's Phil Odell was named to the National Football Foundation All-Colorado second team, Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference Assistant Commissioner Sarah Meier announced yesterday.

“We're all so very proud of him,” second-year FLC head coach Cesar Rivas-Sandoval said of Odell. “He's a great example of leadership on and off the field. He carries a high GPA in the classroom and has been among the RMAC leaders in tackles the past three years. It's great to see him get some recognition for all his hard work.”

Phil Odell, a 6-foot, 200-lb. linebacker from Show Low High School in Show Low, Ariz., ranked among RMAC leaders in fumble recoveries (second, 3, 0.27 per game), forced fumbles (fourth, 3, 0.27 per game), and tackles (sixth, 101, 9.2 per game) as a junior in 2011.

He is a two-time RMAC All-Academic selection, having earned the honors each of the past two years. Odell carries a 3.47 grade point average in Business Administration-Management.
