Thomas Hoang was named RMAC Offensive Player of the Week on Sept. 28, 2010.

COLORADO SPRINGS – Fort Lewis College men's soccer player Thomas Hoang was named Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference Offensive Player of the Week today, RMAC Assistant Commissioner Sarah Meier announced yesterday.

Hoang, a 5-foot-8 junior midfielder from Liberty High School in Colorado Springs, led the Skyhawks (5-3-0 overall, 4-0-0 RMAC) to a perfect 3-0-0 slate on a grueling, three-game road trip by scoring three goals and assisting on another. He scored one goal in FLC's 3-0 win at Mesa State on Sept. 22 and added a pair of goals (including the game-winner) and an assist in a 6-0 win at Adams State on Sept. 24. Hoang was held scoreless in FLC's 1-0 win at UC-Colorado Springs on Sept. 26.

He leads the Skyhawks in scoring with nine points (three goals, three assists) through eight games this fall. Hoang scored 22 points (eight goals, six assists) in 2009 and three points (three assists) in 2008.

Fort Lewis, which won its second NCAA Division II national championship in a five-year span last season, has won four straight games since starting the season 1-3-0. The Skyhawks will get their chance to re-enter the national picture when they host No. 1 Colorado Mines (7-0-1, 4-0-1) at 3:30 p.m. Friday at Dirks Field. FLC also hosts Colorado Christian (1-7-1, 1-4-0) at 1 p.m. Sunday.
