Williams, a New York native helped lead North Platte to the Region IX Championship and a trip to the Junior College National Tournament. In the regional championship game vs. Sheridan College, Williams had 12 points and 4 assists, while playing 34 minutes. In 67 career games at North Platte, Williams scored 390 points and dished out 297 assists and collected 89 steals, helping North Platte to a very impressive 56-11 record. This past season Williams averaged just fewer than five assists per game, which ranked him third in the region.

Williams has been on the recruiting radar of many institutions at various levels. When asked why he chose Fort Lewis, Williams said, “I chose Fort Lewis College because of its great environment, and rich basketball tradition. Both the coaches and players really made me feel as if I were already one of their own. I’m looking forward to being part of a great team over the next two years. I’m ready to play, and I’m excited to be a Skyhawk!”

“We are extremely excited to add a player and person of Dorian’s caliber to our program,” said Hofman. “Dorian has proven to be a winner on and off the floor. He is a very solid student, and what he was able to be a part of at North Platte on the basketball floor speaks for itself. We know Dorian will fit in very well here, and be an extremely valuable member of our basketball team. Dorian really bolsters our junior class. With him, Matt Morris, Matt Billups, and Josh Cassaday I feel very good about our junior class. We are very eager to see Dorian in a Skyhawk uniform.”

Williams joins Alex Herrera (Ignacio, CO) and Josh Cassaday (Aurora, Co) in the 2010 Skyhawk basketball recruiting class.

Fort Lewis has won three RMAC championships (2002, 2005, and 2008) in the last nine years and has won six of the last nine RMAC West Championships, while advancing to the NCAA division II tournament Six times in nine years.
