Haubert Named to 3rd Team All-RMAC as a Freshman

May 4, 2010.  Las Vegas, NM. - The Skyhawks just needed a split on Sunday to have a chance at earning a spot in the RMAC Tournament and their 3rd consecutive post-season appearance. However, the Cowgirls of New Mexico Highlands took those chances away by defeating the Skyhawks 2-1 and 8-7 in Sunday's double-header.

Jordan Willis led the Hawks' in the first game with 2 hits and Brooke Bails drove in the one run in the 2-1 loss. In the second game Chelena Coulston, Bails, Natalie Janes and Kala Bruner all tallied two hits and an RBI. 

The Skyhawks finshed the season 18-26 overall and 17-22 in conference play. The Hawks' also defeated two nationally ranked teams this season. The Skyhawks say goodbye to one senior, Amanda Willmon. 

In other softball news, six players were named to the RMAC All-Academic Teams. Natalie Janes and Jordan Wilis were both named to the 2nd Team All-Academic with GPA's of 3.74 and 3.65. Four other players made the Honor Roll Academic team, they were: Denae Benally, Chelena Coulston, Stephanie Janes and Kassie Haubert.

 Freshman, Kassie Haubert was also recently named to the RMAC All-Conference Third Team as a pitcher.
