The Skyhawks' losing streak slipped to seven, then along came a W.

Fort Lewis College squandered another lead in Game 1 of a Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference softball doubleheader Sunday in Grand Junction, then lost the neutral-site game 3-2 in extra innings to UC-Colorado Springs.

FLC led 1-0 after four innings, then surrendered two runs in the top of the fifth to the Mountain Lions.

FLC fought back for a 2-all tie with a run in the sixth, but UCCS scored in the top of the seventh for the win, and yet another tough-luck loss for the Skyhawks.

Remarkably, five of the Skyhawks' losses in their seven-game slide have come in their opponents final at-bat.

Game 1 on Sunday, it was an RBI single in the top of the eighth inning off Skyhawks' starter Kassie Haubert (5-7).

FLC, led by Jordan Willis' three hits, outhit the Lions 14-5. Brooke Bails, Natalie Janes, Denae Benally and Haubert each had two hits in the loss.

FLC got off the schneid in Game 2 with a come-from-behind 5-2 victory.

This time, it was the Skyhawks who got the last laugh in their last at-bat.

Willis, who collected three more hits, had a two-run single in the bottom of the sixth, part of a three-run frame for FLC.

Jayme Fuller (3-6) pitched the complete-game victory.

FLC is 15-21 overall and 13-17 in the RMAC and will host Adams State this weekend for a double-header Saturday and a double-header Sunday.
