Aprill 12, 2010. Pueblo, CO. - CSU-Pueblo completed its weekend and season sweep of the Fort Lewis College softball team Sunday, winning its second doubleheader against the Skyhawks in as many days, all four victories in come-from-behind fashion.
CSU-Pueblo (20-10 overall, 16-8 Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference) defeated FLC 5-3 in Game 1 and 2-1 in Game 2.
Justine Bosio outdueled Kassie Haubert in Game 1 and improved to 13-4 on the season. She allowed three runs (one earned) on 10 hits.
Ashley Hibbs led the Skyhawks' offense with three hits. Brooke Bails had a pair of hits and two runs batted in, and Amanda Willmon, the team's only senior, also had two hits.
After back-to-back losses Saturday in Pueblo, Skyhawks head coach Pam Adams spoke of timely hitting being key for her team.
FLC, which led 3-0 after four innings of Game 1 on Sunday, stranded nine runners, including the potential game-tying runs in both the sixth and seventh innings.
CSU-Pueblo scored four runs in the bottom of the sixth inning to take the lead.
Haubert allowed five runs (three earned) on six hits in six innings. She walked six batters.
Haubert's teammate, Jayme Fuller, allowed two runs on six hits in 6 2/3 innings. She walked five batters.
For the fourth consecutive game, the ThunderWolves came from behind for the victory.
Annalyse Garcia, the ThunderWolves' No. 2 hitter and right fielder, delivered a walk-off RBI single in the bottom of the seventh in Game 2 on Sunday. Carrie Henry scored the game-winning run and made a winning pitcher out of Kyla Nelson (7-5).
FLC tied the game at 1 in the sixth. Natalie Janes, the Skyhawks' cleanup hitter, drove home Jordan Willis with an RBI single.
FLC (14-18, 13-14) will continue RMAC play against Colorado School of Mines on Saturday in Grand Junction, then will host UC-Colorado Springs on Sunday, the first of three consecutive home doubleheaders at Aspen Field.
