Mel Smith, an FLC Hall of Fame wrestler passed away this week at the age of sixty three from cancer. Smith wrestled for the Raiders from 1964-1968 and was a two-time All-American. Smith was also a long time coach, teacher and administrator of Florence High School in Florence, CO. Smith graduated from Fort Lewis in 1968 and became the first wrestler at FLC to be inducted into the Hall of Fame in 1995. A service in remembrance for Mel Smith will be Sunday, March 7^th in Florence, CO
