Fort Lewis Represented on Daktronics All-Central Region Teams

March 15, 2010. Durango, CO- The Fort Lewis Men's and Women's Basketball teams both had players placed on the 2010 Daktronics All-Central Region Teams for their success this season.

The men's team was represented by junior DeAndre Lansdowne who was named to the first team all-central region team.  Lansdowne led the Skyhawks to a 19-10 record this season averaging 21.7 points per game shooting 55% from the field and 40% from the 3-point line.  DeAndre in 3rd in the RMAC for scoring, 9th in field goal percentage, 4th in steals, and 12th in rebounding while coming in 2nd for minutes played. He was named the RMAC Preseason Player of the Year and was also selected as the RMAC Player of the Week on February 22, 2010.  DeAndre was also selected as a junior to the First Team All-RMAC this season.

Senior Allison Rosel made the first team all-central region team for the women's team along side senior Katie Mackey who was selected to the second team.  Rosel was selected as the RMAC Player of the Week twice, once on February 22 and again on November 30th.  Allison is 1st in field goal percentage in the RMAC, 6th in scoring, 10th in free throw percentage, and 12th in steals.  She was named the RMAC Player of the Year and made first team All-RMAC.  She is averaging 14.7 points per game and is currently shooting 60% from the field.  Rosel is currently in second place for two individual school records in scoring and rebounding at Fort Lewis College with 1496 points and 764 rebouonds. Katie Mackey is averaging 12.6 points per game and also has one of the highest free throw percentages in the country, shooting 89% from the line.  She also holds an individual record here at Fort Lewis with her 170 3-pointers. Mackey is currently 1st in the RMAC with her field goal percentage, 12th in scoring, and 13th in steals. She was selected as the RMAC Player of the Week on February 8, 2010 and was named to the first team all-rmac west division.  

Along with Mackey and Rosel, seniors Laura Haugen, Audrey George, and Lauren McCulloch have led the Skyhawks to become one of the top programs in the nation.  They are the most decorated group of seniors in the history of the Fort Lewis women's basketball team and have forever left their mark on the program.  This is the second consecutive year that this group of girls will play in the Sweet Sixteen game and with a victory will become the first RMAC women's team to reach the Elite Eight.  The Skyhawks will take on Concordia St. Paul tonight at 7:00pm.
