Skyhawks Sign Five to Class of 2010
February 19, 2010. Durango, CO. - The Fort Lewis College men's soccer program is pleased to announce the commitments of five players who will help to defend the Skyhawks National Championship title in the 2010 season. Four of the players coming to the Fort are from the Rio Vista 92 club team out of New Mexico, who are currently the defending state champions.
Casey Dean, a forward from Albuquerque, New Mexico, has played an integral part on his high school and club team. Casey was selected to the first team All-New Mexico after scoring 18 goals and 6 assists on the season. Casey will be joining his brother Cory who is a current member of the Skyhawk Soccer team.
Aaron Tafoya, a midfielder from Albuquerque, New Mexico, joins the Skyhawks after a very successful year. Aaron captured two state titles, one with the Rio Vista 92 club team and another with La Cueva high school. Aaron was also selected to the first team All-New Mexico.
Aaron Kloer, a midfielder from Albuquerque, New Mexico, finished his high school career with a solid 15 goals and 5 assists in his senior season out of Albuquerque high school. Aaron joins his club teammates after being selected to the All-New Mexico team.
Patrick Sanchez, a defender from Albuquerque, New Mexico, brings a strong defensive presence to an already solid Skyhawk back line. Pat helped Rio Rancho High School to keep their opponents to an impressive average of less than a goal per game. Pat was also recognized by being selected to the All-New Mexico team.
Tanner Roland, a defender, comes to the Fort from Roseville High School out of California. Tanner was named league MVP after leading the league in goals scored. Follow the link for more information on Tanner and his great senior season run.
