KANSAS CITY, Kan. — NCAA Division II men's soccer coaches named Fort Lewis College men's soccer player Fabian Kling to the NSCAA/Performance Subaru All-America third team last Friday.

Earlier this month, the 6-foot-3 junior defender from Holblein High School in Augsburg, Germany, was named to the Daktronics All-America third team. Sports information directors at NCAA Division II schools that participate in men's soccer voted on the Daktronics team.

Kling led the Skyhawks in goal scoring (eight) and ranked second in total points (16) in 2010. During his junior campaign, he has been chosen to the NSCAA/Performance Subaru and Daktronics All-Central Region first teams, the All-Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference second team and the RMAC All-Tournament Team.

As a sophomore in 2009, he was named to the NSCAA All-Central Region first team, the Daktronics All-Central Region second team, and the All-NCAA Division II Final Four Team while guiding the Skyhawks to their second NCAA Division II championship in five seasons.

Kling earned first team All-RMAC honors as a true freshman in 2008. He was also a preseason All-RMAC choice in 2009 and 2010.

“We're really pleased to have Fabian come back his senior year [in 2011] and take over the captain's role,” said second-year head coach Oige Kennedy. “He's going to be a great leader for our younger players to learn from. He's excited to come back for his senior year and hopefully win a couple more trophies.”

The Skyhawks finished the 2010 season with records of 11-5-4 overall and 10-2-2 in the RMAC. Fort Lewis finished runner-up to Colorado Mines in both the regular season and league tournament.
