Pairings set for 2010 RMAC women’s soccer semifinals

Top-seeded Skyhawks face Colorado Mines, Regis squares off vs. New Mexico Highlands

DURANGO, Colo. — The pairings are set for the 2010 Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference women's soccer championships, hosted by Fort Lewis College at Dirks Field from November 5-7, 2010.

The host Skyhawks (16-1-1), ranked No. 3 in this week's NSCAA/HendrickCars.com Division II women's soccer poll, host Colorado Mines (11-5-3) at 2:30 p.m. Friday. Mines advanced by defeating Metro State 2-1 in double overtime yesterday in Golden. Fort Lewis, the 2010 RMAC regular season champions, received a first-round bye.

The 2010 RMAC regular season trophy will be presented to the Skyhawks at halftime of their semifinal game by RMAC Assistant Commissioner Sarah Meier.

Second-seeded Regis (13-5-1), No. 23 in this week's national rankings, faces New Mexico Highlands (12-5-2) at noon Friday. Highlands advanced by defeating UC-Colorado Springs 4-1 last night in Las Vegas, N.M. Regis, the runner-up in the RMAC regular season, received a first-round bye.

Friday's winners will meet for the RMAC tournament championship at 1 p.m. Sunday.

Single-day tickets to the RMAC women's soccer championships cost $10 for adults and $5 for senior citizens, children ages 6-18 and students with ID. All-session tournament passes cost $15 for adults and $7 for senior citizens, children ages 6-18 and students with ID. Children ages 5 and younger are admitted free of charge.

Because this is a conference championship, no passes will be accepted. Fort Lewis College students, faculty, staff, retirees, boosters and corporate partners must pay full admission.

All games will be streamed live via America One at www.goskyhawks.com. Games involving Fort Lewis will also be broadcast live on ESPN Sports Radio KIUP (930 AM and www.radiodurango.com).

Game summaries, box scores and the all-tournament team will be posted at www.goskyhawks.com.
