COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Wide receiver Justin Johnson was named to the All-Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference first team football squad, RMAC Assistant Commissioner Eric Danner announced today.

Quarterback Tim Jenkins was named to All-RMAC second team while left tackle Luke Geller was named to the All-RMAC third team.

“I'm very proud of all of our players,” said first-year Skyhawk head coach Cesar Rivas-Sandoval. “The RMAC was very competitive this season and it was very hard to get any of our players on the all-conference teams. But these guys are more than well-deserving. We look more forward to adding players to the all-conference list in the future.”

Johnson, a 5-foot-11, 185-lb. senior from St. Augustine High School in San Diego, Calif., led all RMAC players in receptions (89, 8.9 per game) and receiving yards (1,242, 124.2 per game) during 2010. He also ranked among RMAC leaders in yards per catch (seventh, 14.0), touchdown catches (sixth, seven) and all-purpose yards (sixth, 1,271). Earlier this fall, he was named to the Preseason All-RMAC team.

He led the entire NCAA Division II in receptions per game (11.8) in 2009, a season that saw him earn second team All-RMAC honors.

“He led the conference in both statistical categories of receptions per game and yards per game,” said Rivas-Sandoval. “He's an outstanding football player who deserves all the recognition he gets.”

Jenkins, a 6-foot-2, 200-lb. sophomore from ThunderRidge High School in Highlands Ranch, Colo., ranked among league leaders in total offense (second, 286.6 yards per game, 2,293 total yards) and passing yards (second, 293.4 yards per game, 2347 passing yards). He completed 223 of 354 passes with 14 touchdowns and 10 interceptions to rank seventh in passing efficiency, with a quarterback rating of 126.1. A broken collarbone kept Jenkins out of the final two games of the season.

A year ago, Jenkins was chosen as the RMAC Offensive Freshman of the Year. He was named RMAC Offensive Player of the Week once during the 2010 campaign.

“This was a great accomplishment for this sophomore,” said Rivas-Sandoval. “I'm excited to have him for two more years. He's a great leader as well as a great football player.”

Geller, a 6-foot-2, 280-lb. senior from Bishop Alemany High School in Simi Valley, Calif., earned third team All-RMAC accolades for the second year in a row.

“For as often as we throw the football, it's always nice to see an offensive lineman get some recognition for all their hard work and solid play,” said Rivas-Sandoval.

Fort Lewis finished the season with records of 3-7 overall, 3-6 in the RMAC, good for a sixth-place tie. The Skyhawks lose just 10 seniors to graduation.
