DURANGO, Colo. – The Fort Lewis College women's soccer team will host a reception from 5 to 7 p.m. on Saturday, October 9 at the Irish Embassy Pub.

The Skyhawks (9-1-0 overall, 5-1-0 in the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference) are ranked No. 7 in the latest NSCAA national rankings — the highest-ever national ranking in the program's history.

Fourth-year head coach Damian Clarke wanted a chance to celebrate the team's recent successes with youth soccer players, parents, boosters, students and other supporters.

The team will unveil its new badge with plenty of Skyhawk women's soccer t-shirts and jerseys for sale. Additionally, Sports Illustrated magazines featuring FLC women's soccer player Hayley Hollenga in "Faces in the Crowd" will be sold for $5 each. Hollenga will be available to autograph the issue. Complementary appetizers will also be served.

“Hayley is a very special athlete, one who plays for the team, but is also capable of putting a team on her back,” said Clarke. “She is the ultimate competitor and sets the bar for everyone every day.”

Hollenga leads the Skyhawks in goals with six this season. Five of her goals came in a five-game span from Sept. 5 through Sept. 19. During that time frame, she netted four game-winners, including three golden goals in sudden-death overtime. This led to her Sports Illustrated appearance on Sept. 30.

Fort Lewis has its biggest weekend of the year, facing two top RMAC and NCAA Division II Central Region foes at Dirks Field. The Skyhawks host Colorado Mines (5-2-3 overall, 4-1-0 RMAC) at 1 p.m. Friday and Metro State (8-1-1, 4-1-1) at 1 p.m. Sunday.
