In just their third game ever, the Fort Lewis College women's lacrosse team faced a tough loss to Dennison University (Ohio) in Colorado Springs.
Under five minutes into the game, Dennison got their first goal of the game, and ever since then continued their offensive pace, never looking back. Through the first half of the contest, Skyhawk goalkeepers
Chelsea Stevens and
Nic Laros faced a peppering of shots, making seven saves.
Fort Lewis did improve in the second half, cutting their turnovers down to just five, compared to Dennison's seven. The Skyhawks nabbed two goals in the second half, with
Emily Spreer and
Adrianne Dettler finding the back of the net.
In their first season of existence as a program, the 0-3 Skyhawks will continue their development as they face Fontbonne University (St. Louis, Missouri), another relatively new NCAA program.
