FLC Soccer to Play in Division II National Championship Match Tomorrow

The Fort Lewis College Men’s Soccer team is getting ready to take on Lees-McRae College in the NCAA Division II Championship Game on Saturday, December 5 at 2:00 p.m. MST. The game will be played in Tampa, FL, and broadcast over the CBS College Sports Channel.

 

Fort Lewis College and our community partners have organized a number of events this weekend to celebrate both the Men’s and Women’s Soccer teams’ remarkable accomplishments this year, win or lose. The College would like to thank the Irish Embassy, Cuckoo’s, the Durango-La Plata County Airport, and all those who supported the Skyhawks.

2 p.m. Greet the Soccer Team at the Durango Airport – Durango Airport, Charter Flight Area

Everyone is invited to the celebration at the airport. The team’s plane is schedule to arrive around 2:30 p.m. No special credentials or RSVPs required. Congratulations banners, FLC gear, balloons, etc. are encouraged.

Approx. 3:30 p.m. Congratulations Procession from Airport – From the airport, down Main Ave and up to campus finishing at Whalen Gym

Escort the team back home in your vehicle with decorated cars and lots of honking. Fall in behind the police escort and the team’s vehicle for the drive back to Durango. ALL TRAFFIC RULES MUST BE OBSERVED, SUCH AS STOPPING AT RED LIGHTS.
