Purcell Leads RMAC with 11 Goals
November 5, 2009. Durango, CO - The #2 Fort Lewis Men's soccer team not only went undefeated in the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference (14-0) but also received recognition for their accomplishments.
Senior goalkeeper
Zane Wells was recognized by the RMAC coaches and was selected as the 2009 RMAC Defensive Player of the Year. Wells is the first student-athlete in conference history to receive this award two years in a row. Wells leads the RMAC in shutouts with 9 as well as in goals against at 4.
Seniors
Tom Settle,
Euan Purcell,
David Barden,
Jeff Jennings, and Wells were all selected to the All-RMAC First team. Settle leads the RMAC in assists with 13 in 14 games while Purcell leads the RMAC in goals with 11 in 10 games. Senior
Sam Morris was selected to the All-RMAC Second team.
