Clarke and Kluk Receive All-Conference Awards

MacArthur Selected to All-RMAC First Team
November 4, 2009. Durango, CO - Senior co-captain Nichole Kluk has been named as the 2009 RMAC Defensive Player of the Year. Kluk has helped the Skyhawks earn their best record the program has seen at 17-2-2 overall and 12-2-2 in the RMAC . She has also helped the defense to a program high of 14 shutouts this season. Kluk is also the first student-athlete from FLC to earn Defensive Player of the Year honors.
Coach Damian Clarke is in his third season as the head coach for Women's Soccer team and has been named as the 2009 RMAC Women's Soccer Coach of the Year. This is the first time that Clarke has received this award. The last time a Fort Lewis Women's Soccer coach received this award was in 1999.
Senior co-captain Jamie MacArthur was named to the 2009 All-RMAC First Team as she has tallied 16 points with 8 goals this season. Junior Christine Schmelzle was selected to the All-RMAC Second Team as she has earned a career high of 14 shutouts this season. Sophomore Hayley Hollenga and senior Samantha Smith were both selected to the All-RMAC Third Team. Hollenga has 25 points with 7 goals and 11 assists while Smith has 12 points with 4 goals and 4 assists.
