Five Skyhawks Named to Academic All-RMAC Cross Country Teams

DURANGO, CO - December 13, 2007 - Five Fort Lewis College cross country runners have been named to the 2007 Academic All-Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference (RMAC) Teams in an announcement made earlier today by the RMAC.

Men's runner, Sean Dunlap (Ossipee, NH) was named to the All-Academic Second Team, while Dylan Peterson (Lakeville, MN) and Ben Rogers (Eagle, CO) were Honor Roll selections.

On the women's side, Allison Wine (Flagstaff, AZ) and Whitney Allard (Vail, CO) were also Honor Roll selections.

Dunlap placed 65th at the NCAA Regionals meet in South Dakota in November and 33rd in the RMAC Championship race. He has a 3.75 GPA and is a Exercise Science major.

Peterson led the Skyhawks with a first place finish at the Aztec Invitational in San Diego this fall. He finished 53rd in the RMAC Championship race and 51st at the NCAA Regionals. He has a 3.73 GPA and is a Philosophy major.

Rogers placed 11th in the Tom Strandt Memorial Run and 15th at the Aztec Invitational this season. He's a Anthropology major with a 3.55 GPA.

An Exercise Science major with a 3.47 GPA, Allard finished 103rd at the Rocky Mountain Shootout and 85th in the RMAC Championship race.

Wine rounds out the selections in 2007 with a 3.80 GPA as an Interdisciplinary Studies major. She finished 81st at the RMAC Championship and 119th at the NCAA Regionals meet.

The Skyhawks, currently finishing the fall semester, return in the spring to start preparing for another season of cross country in the fall of 2008.
