Ken Flint begins his 11th season as head men’s and women’s cross country coach at Fort Lewis College. He also serves as the athletic business manager for Skyhawk Athletics, a role he began during the summer of 2007.

In 2005, Flint guided the women's team to a fifth place finish in the RMAC championships (their highest finish since 1999) and an eighth place at the NCAA North Central Regionals (the highest in school history).

Among Flint's accolades at Fort Lewis College was coaching All-American Brianne Lippoldt, who finished 14th overall at 2003 NCAA Championships in Raleigh, N.C., and Emily Roser, who finished 27th overall at the 2006 NCAA National Championships in Pensacola, Fla., with a school-record time of 21:10 for the 6K distance.

Under Flint's leadership, the Skyhawks have built a strong academic tradition. The women's and men’s teams has met qualifying standards for Academic All-American team accolades by maintaining an overall team GPA of 3.0 or better nearly every season that Flint has coached. Three cross-country athletes have won Fort Lewis College Scholar Athlete of the Year awards for having the highest GPA of any senior at Fort Lewis College: Joey Grindstaff (2000), Luke Babcock (2004), and Jessica Quigley (2005).

Flint was hired as head men's and women's cross country coach on April 7, 2000. He becomes the sixth cross country coach in school history, following in the footsteps of Ray Williams (1984-86), Dale Garland (1987, 1995-97), Chuck Walker (1988-91), Susan Leonard (1992-94) and Alex Accetta (1998-99).

Flint, 43, was a four-year letterwinner in cross country and track & field at San Diego State from 1986 to 1990. He received the Western Athletic Conference Scholar-Athlete of the Year award in 1989, an honor for athletic and scholastic achievement and overall character the conference bestows upon just one athlete from all sports. Flint served as captain of SDSU's cross country team for two years and track team for one.

Flint received a bachelor's degree in telecommunications and film with a minor in personality/social psychology from San Diego State in 1990. He’s also a USATF Level I certified coach.

He and his wife, Abbey, have two sons, Marcus and Anthony.
