Alex Herrera put up two double-doubles this weekend. Against Western New Mexico he scored 24 points and pulled in 14 rebounds. He shot 12-of-16 from the field and finished the night with three blocks, two assists, and one steal.
At New Mexico Highlands he put up 19 points to go with 15 rebounds. He shot 5-of-8 from the free throw stripe and continued to stuff the stat sheet with two assists, four blocks, one steal, and played all 40 minutes.
Herrera leads the Skyhawks with 23.5 points per game, 81 total blocks, 11.5 rebounds per game, and 176 made free throw this season.
The Skyhawks play a double header this weekend against CSU-Pueblo and UCCS with action starting at 5 P.M. for the women’s game and 7:30 P.M. for the men’s game this Friday night.
