Head Women’s Lacrosse Coach

Anticipated start date: July 1, 2008.
 
Fort Lewis College (NCAA Division II), located in beautiful Durango, Colorado is seeking applications for the position of our first Head Women’s Lacrosse Coach. Fort Lewis College, with approximately 4,000 undergraduate students, is Colorado’s public liberal arts college. Visit http://www.goskyhawks.com for more information about the Athletics Department.
 
Responsibilities
Initiate a new intercollegiate Women’s Lacrosse program, including recruitment, practice/skill development, scheduling, public relations/community involvement,      fund-raising, summer camps and budget management, and other duties as assigned. Additional staff and/or faculty responsibilities may be explored based on qualifications.
 
Qualifications
·        Ability to perform the responsibilities the position
·        Demonstrated successful lacrosse coaching experience, with high level club and college coaching experience and a background that includes starting new lacrosse programs preferred
·        A bachelor’s degree required, Master’s preferred
·        Knowledge of and willingness to learn and exhibit a strict adherence to NCAA, Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference, college and department rules and regulations as well as a recognizable commitment to student growth and academic achievement
·        The successful candidate must be a person of integrity, have excellent communication skills, and a commitment to teamwork.

Athletic Event Assistant
Assist the director with event management for home athletic events including football, men's and women's soccer, volleyball, men's and women's basketball, softball and cross country. Duties Include: set-up and tear down, in-game promotions, ticket management, concessions management, event security. Qualifications: Must demonstrate basic understanding of athletics and be motivated. Evening and weekend availability. (1 position available)

Sports Information Assistant
Assist the director with sports information and media relations for home athletic events including football, men's and women's soccer, volleyball, men's and women's basketball, softball and cross country. Duties Include: Scoreboard set-up, press row set-up and tear down, in-game statistics entry, writing press releases, updating website, coordination with radio station. Qualifications: Must demonstrate basic understanding of athletic and be motivated. Some writing skills required. Evening and weekend availability. (1 position available)

Athletic Event Staff

Public Address Announcer
Announce home athletic events including football, men's and women's soccer, volleyball, men's and women's basketball and softball. Duties Include: Pre-game preparation, coordination with in-game promotions and DJ, announce goals, in-game advertising. Qualifications: Pubicly pleasing and energetic voice, ability to motivate the crowd and athletes and basic understanding of athletics. (1 position available)

Athletics DJ/Music Coordinator
Be the Skyhawks' "Disc Jockey" for home athletic events including football, men's and women's soccer, volleyball, men's and women's basketball and softball. Duties Include: Pre-game preparation, pre-game/in-game/halftime music coordinator, music review prior to competition. Qualifications: Must demonstrate basic understanding of athletics and be motivated. Basic knowledge of music and DJ functions. Evening and weekend availability. (1 position available)
