DALLAS — FC Dallas of Major League Soccer has invited former Fort Lewis College outside midfielder Joey Madigan to its 2012 preseason training camp.

“The FC Dallas coaches came to watch our NCAA semifinal game against Millersville and were very impressed with Joey and invited him to come join them at their preseason camp,” said third-year FLC head coach Oige Kennedy, who was named the NCAA Division II Coach of the Year by the National Collegiate Soccer Coaches Association earlier this month.

LILBURN, Ga. — The Fort Lewis College women's basketball team dropped to No. 8 in the tenth USA TODAY ESPN Division II Top 25 Coaches Poll of the season, released today by the Women's Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA). The Skyhawks received 565 total points.

Fort Lewis (15-2 overall, 12-1 in the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference) split its two road games last weekend, losing to then-No. 5 Metro State 78-51 on Friday before beating Regis 69-55 on Saturday.

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. — The Fort Lewis College softball team was picked 11th overall the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference preseason coaches' poll, RMAC Assistant Commissioner Eric Danner announced today.

Colorado Mines was the runaway choice to win the conference with 22 points and seven first-place votes. The Orediggers shared the 2011 RMAC regular season crown with Metro State with 28-11 league records.
